Description: We are looking for a Per Diem RN for our Cancer Center who is available a minimum of 3-days during the week (M-F) to work a 8-10 hour day shift.

Purpose

The Per Diem Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to oncology patients in an outpatient medical oncology practice. This role supports physicians and advanced practice providers in delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care, including assessment, treatment coordination, patient education, and symptom management

What you will do

Patient Care & Clinical SupportPerform comprehensive patient assessments, including evaluation of symptoms, treatment side effects, and overall health status.Monitor patients throughout treatment and identify changes requiring clinical intervention.Triage patient phone calls and electronic messages, providing clinical guidance and coordinating care as appropriate.Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (Epic).Patient EducationEducate patients and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, side effects, symptom management, and supportive care resources.Reinforce treatment adherence and follow-up recommendations.Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families throughout the cancer care journey.Care CoordinationCoordinate diagnostic testing, referrals, authorizations, and follow-up appointments as needed.Facilitate communication among members of the multidisciplinary care team.Assist with survivorship, palliative care, and supportive care initiatives when appropriate.Quality & ComplianceAdhere to all state, federal, OSHA, HIPAA, and oncology-specific regulations and standards.Maintain compliance with oncology nursing best practices, safety protocols, and infection prevention standards.Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits as needed.Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous medications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Registered nurse in the State of Florida
  • Current BLS from AHA Required
