Job summary

Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Oncology on the Med Surg unit. This full-time Days position requires a 36-hour work week with every third weekend commitment and a holiday rotation.

Chemo certification is expected within one year for new grads and within six months for experienced RNs. We are looking for candidates with an accredited nursing program, an active RN license in Illinois, BLS, and a commitment to obtaining chemotherapy administration

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
• All RNs are required to obtain Chemotherapy Administration Certification within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care.
• Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum using evidence-based practice and clinical decision making.
