Job summary

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver compassionate, high‑quality care across the patient journey. You will perform comprehensive assessments, implement care plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support recovery and safety.

Relocation assistance up to $10,000 is offered for eligible new hires. Requirements include BSN, TX RN licensure, at least 1 year of RN experience, and CPR/BLS.

Qualifications

  • BSN required.
  • At least 1 year of RN experience upon hire.
  • Registered Nurse: TX licensure required upon hire.
  • CPR/BLS certification required within 14 days.
  • Competence in RN I performance expectations or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Patient assessment & holistic nursing care; notify physicians of significant changes.
  • Develop and evaluate individualized care plans including education and discharge planning.
  • Prepare patients for procedures; implement physician orders; ensure safety and medication administration.
  • Regularly reassess patient responses; adapt care to changing needs; communicate with physicians for modifications.
  • Utilize Bedside Shift Report; provide thorough patient updates; support handoffs and continuity of care.
  • Maintain a safe environment and contribute to quality and patient satisfaction initiatives.

  • Patient Assessment & Care:Conducts comprehensive assessments, provides holistic nursing care, and notifies physicians of significant changes.
  • Care Planning & Coordination:Develops, directs, and evaluates individualized care plans, including patient/family education and discharge planning, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Treatment Implementation:Prepares patients for procedures, implements physician orders, and ensures patient safety protocols, including medication administration.
  • Ongoing Evaluation & Adjustment:Regularly reassesses patient responses to interventions, adapts care to changing needs, and communicates with physicians for modifications.
  • Effective Communication & Handoffs:Utilizes Bedside Shift Report, provides thorough patient updates, and delegates tasks for seamless care transitions.
  • Safety & Quality Assurance:Maintains a safe patient and work environment, promptly addresses hazards, and actively contributes to quality and patient satisfaction initiatives.

We are offering up to $10,000 in relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - day
  • Demonstrated competence in Registered Nurse I performance expectations or meets experience requirements upon hire
