Special skills are developed in the evaluation and treatment of cancer patients and survivors with residual impairments related to their cancer treatments including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, and stem cell transplantation, as well as complications related to the cancer itself. Fellows will also manage non-cancer-related rehabilitation and musculoskeletal issues influencing a patient's quality of life and ability to undergo further cancer treatments. Trainees will have an exciting opportunity to also undergo additional rotations in interventional and pelvic pain management, palliative care, integrative medicine, as well as elective opportunities in radiation oncology and other oncology sub-specialty fields. Although emphasis is primarily clinical, there is ample opportunity for a research project. Specific assistance including mentorship and dedicated time can be available for research purposes.
