Job summary

Parkland Health in Dallas is seeking an Oncology RN for Moody Outpatient Center. The role delivers cancer care across treatment phases and requires IV access, chemotherapy administration, and strict adherence to nursing standards.

Responsibilities include patient education, care coordination, and discharge planning within a multidisciplinary team. Nursing residency may be required for new graduates; BLS and Texas/Compact RN licensure are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• If less than 9 months experience, a Nurse residency is required.
• Must have current, valid RN license or temporary RN license with the Texas Board of Nursing; or, valid Compact RN license.
• Must have current healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care education and training to patient and family members.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines.
• Performs patient assessments related to cancer care across diagnosis, treatment and surveillance.
• Educates patients and families on cancer care follow-up and treatment side effects.
• Collaborates with care teams to coordinate discharge planning.
• Ensures documentation meets oncology-related standards.
