Goodlandregional seeks a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in an oncology setting. This role involves triaging patients, maintaining accurate patient documentation, and collaborating with physicians for effective patient management.
Qualified candidates should have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing, a current RN license in Kansas, and experience in acute care. Chemotherapy certification is preferred, with strong critical thinking and communication skills essential for success.
Provides direct patient care in the oncology care setting. Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility, and responsibility indicative of professional expectation with a minimum of supervision. Is able to triage safely, rapidly, and accurately, every patient that enters the oncology care system. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with physicians about changes in patient’s status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Minimum Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree Registered Nurse from an accredited nursing school. Current Kansas Registered Nurse License. Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Certification.
Minimum Experience: Preferably a practicing acute care nurse for a minimum of 1 year.
Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of Kansas. Basic Life Support required. Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Certification. Advance Cardiac Life Support, current within one year of hire date.
Frequent sitting, standing, and walking in carrying out duties. Should be in good physical condition and able to assist patients as needed. At times may be exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, and illness). Due to nature of profession may be exposed to blood‑borne pathogens/illnesses.
