Job summary

Carolina Oncology Specialists is seeking a compassionate phlebotomist to support our outpatient oncology and hematology patients. You will collect blood specimens, label and process samples, and ensure accurate documentation in the EMR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a phlebotomy program preferred.
• Current phlebotomy certification is preferred (ASCP, NHA, NCCT or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures per policy.
• Verify patient identity and orders before specimen collection.
• Accurately label, process, and distribute specimens for testing.
• Document laboratory activities in the EMR with accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide compassionate patient care and address concerns during collection.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after procedure.
