Job summary

IDEAYA Biosciences seeks an experienced Medical Director of Patient Safety and Pharmacovigilance to lead medical review of IC SRs and oversee global safety activities. The role partners with a pharmacovigilance vendor and IDEAYA Safety Operations to ensure compliant, timely reporting and high-quality case processing.

Onsite in South San Francisco four days a week, reporting to the Senior Medical Director. The ideal candidate has an MD, 5–8+ years in oncology pharmacovigilance, and strong

Qualifications

• MD (or international medical degree) with 2+ years bedside clinical experience.
• 5–8+ years of oncology experience in drug safety/pharmacovigilance.
• Strong hands-on ICSR medical review experience.
• Demonstrated experience working with external PV vendors or CROs.
• Solid knowledge of global PV regulations (FDA, EMA, ICH).

Responsibilities

• Oversee medical review of ICSR, including complex oncology cases.
• Provide clinical assessment of adverse events and causality.
• Serve as medical point of contact for PV vendor inquiries.
• Support vendor oversight activities and regulatory submissions.
• Collaborate with Safety Operations to ensure quality in global case processing.
• Support development of medical review guidelines and training.
