Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize individualized medication therapy plans with providers.
  • Conduct comprehensive medication reviews for safe and effective patient care.
  • Monitor patient response and recommend therapy adjustments.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests under collaborative practice agreements.
  • Review refill requests and evaluate adherence, safety, efficacy, and drug interactions.
  • Serve as medication information resource for providers, nurses, researchers, and patients.
  • Assist patients in obtaining specialty medications and coordinate insurance documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize regimens and improve outcomes.
  • Educate patients on medication use, side effects, and adherence.
  • Support management of specialty therapies, anticoagulation, pain, infections, and other pharmacist-managed services.
  • Dispense across infusion, oral oncology, and specialty pharmacy settings as needed.

Job description

Contract Length: 6 Months (Extensions Likely)

We are seeking an experienced Oncology Pharmacist to support a leading oncology and specialty care environment focused on delivering exceptional patient outcomes. This role will work closely with physicians, nurses, researchers, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy, improve patient safety, and ensure the highest quality pharmaceutical care for oncology patients.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical pharmacy experience and a passion for patient-centered care. This position offers the opportunity to work with complex treatment regimens, specialty medications, infusion therapies, and multidisciplinary care teams while contributing to clinical excellence, patient education, research initiatives, and quality improvement efforts.

What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with providers to develop and optimize individualized medication therapy plans
  • Conduct comprehensive medication reviews to promote safe and effective patient care
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and recommend therapy adjustments when appropriate
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests under collaborative practice agreements
  • Review refill requests and evaluate adherence, safety, efficacy, and potential drug interactions
  • Serve as a medication and drug information resource for providers, nurses, researchers, and patients
  • Assist patients in obtaining specialty medications and coordinate required insurance documentation
  • Identify opportunities to optimize treatment regimens and improve patient outcomes
  • Educate patients on medication use, side effect management, treatment expectations, and adherence
  • Support management of specialty therapies, anticoagulation, pain management, infectious disease therapies, and other pharmacist-managed services when applicable
  • Perform dispensing pharmacist duties across infusion, oral oncology, and specialty pharmacy settings as needed

  • Experience supporting clinical research or investigational drug studies

    Compensation

    $80 - $90 Per Hour

    Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

    Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entailed to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
