Job summary

UHC United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV is seeking a UHC-Patient Care Tech-6 South Oncology Day Shift to provide direct and indirect patient support under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will assist with admissions, vital signs, hygiene, feeding, and routine tasks while maintaining safety and cleanliness.

The role requires a High School Diploma and BLS certification within 30 days of hire, with prior patient care experience preferred. Shift: Day, non-exempt, full-time.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report patient concerns to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assist with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Record vital signs and assist in hygiene and comfort measures.
• Assist in specimen collection and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Communicate with RN about nutrition and diet changes.
• Support department operations and answer patient call bells.
