Job summary

The Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine is a leading cancer care and research center in Missouri. This role provides direct patient care to support licensed nurses for oncology patients, promoting safety and high-quality care in a complex clinical setting.

Preferred candidates include CNAs, nurse assistants, EMTs, or surgical technicians. The position involves 36 hours per week with day and night shifts, holiday and weekend

Qualifications

Preferred experience as CNA, nurse assistant, EMT, or surgical technician.
Licensed as a Certified Nurse Assistant.

Responsibilities

Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, promoting patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
Administers or assists patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and performs vital signs, intake & output, urinary catheter care, phlebotomy, or point of care testing as requested.
Collects clinical data and information on patients, and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
Assists nurse with patient and family education and documents all patient care activities.
Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs and participates in patient safety initiatives.
