Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks an Oncology Nursing Supervisor for Gynecologic, Palliative Care & High-Risk Genetic Cancer Clinics. This leadership role oversees clinical operations and staff in a high-acuity cancer care setting.

You will supervise nursing teams, ensure high standards of patient care, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to optimize care pathways for complex patients in a dynamic academic medical center.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program with an ADN.
• Minimum 5 years of general nursing including 1 year in a supervisory role.
• RN licensure in Texas and BLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and teaches specialized knowledge in area of specialty.
• Manages daily patient care services.
• Assesses and evaluates delivery of care.
• Develops patient care standards and supervises staff.
• Ensures internal controls compliance.
• Facilitates teamwork through staff meetings.

JOB DUTIES

• Oversees and/or teaches others specialized knowledge and skills necessary to perform techniques and routines in area of specialty.
• Provides operational management of daily patient care services.
• Assesses, monitors, and evaluates systems for delivery of care.
• Assists in development of patient care standards of practice and personnel performance.
• Designs, executes, and delivers effective system of internal controls applicable and in compliance to laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
• Facilitates teamwork through planned group processes, (i.e., workshops, seminars, and staff meetings).
• Supervises nursing staff and/or other non-licensed medical or office support personnel.
• May provide direct patient care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
