Job summary

Mercy is seeking an Oncology Nurse to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. You will coordinate chemotherapy and related therapies, monitor symptoms, educate patients and families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve outcomes across the Midwest.

• Active RN license.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.
• Experience with chemotherapy administration and central line care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct oncology nursing care to patients receiving chemotherapy and related therapies.
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive medications safely.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor for treatment side effects and complications.
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, symptom management, and home care.
• Coordinate care with physicians, pharmacists, social workers, and other team members.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Follow infection control and safety protocols for high-risk oncology populations.
• Respond to urgent or emergent patient situations and elevate care appropriately.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice projects.
