Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL is seeking a Nurse Extern II to support RN staff and provide basic oncology care under supervision. This role supports daily living activities and safety while gaining hands-on experience in a renowned cancer program.

As a student in a BSN program, you will complete orientation and demonstrate clinical competencies while working a flexible schedule that accommodates coursework. A strong academic record and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required.
• CNA is not required for students in BSN program.
• Must pass Oncology Tech orientation, bootcamp and checklist within 90 days.
• In BSN program, maintain good standing and concurrent enrollment.
• Must have 3.0 GPA.
• Letter of recommendation from nursing school faculty.
• Minimum one shift per pay period with flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to oncology patients under RN supervision.
• Assist nursing staff in treatments using validated skills.
• Take vital signs, weight, and intake-output measurements.
• Make rounds and assist patients and families per safety policies.
• Identify environmental risks and report them.
