McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse to deliver nursing care within an oncology practice, following organization policies and standards of care. You will monitor chemotherapy orders, calculate BSA and doses with supervision, and administer chemotherapy while monitoring for adverse reactions and managing port care.

Requires Michigan RN license and oncology experience; OCN/ONS training within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• One year of oncology nursing experience.
• Current State of Michigan registered nurse license.
• OCN certification within eighteen (18) months of hire.
• ONS or equivalent Chemotherapy/Biotherapy administration course within six (6) months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Monitors ordering and storage of chemotherapy medications and records related information.
• Calculates and verifies with another qualified health professional the body surface area (BSA) of the patient and verify the appropriate dose ordered.
• Prepares patient and administers chemotherapy assessing signs and symptoms of adverse reactions and ensuring patient comfort levels. Performs port draws and maintains ports.
