Job summary

American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) is seeking a confident Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hematology/Oncology team in Shreveport, LA. The role blends outpatient clinic work with inpatient rounding to support an experienced care team.

You will contribute to developing a High-Risk Breast Clinic and manage patients through complex cancer therapies while receiving comprehensive benefits and professional growth opportunities with ASCO.

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana license or eligibility for licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA).
• Hematology/Oncology experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with Hematology/Oncology physicians in a busy outpatient clinic.
• Evaluate and manage patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions.
• Participate in rotating inpatient hospital coverage and rounding.
• Provide care for patients through the High-Risk Breast Clinic.
• Monitor treatment plans and ensure patients progress through therapy.
• Assist with oversight and follow-up of patients receiving infusion therapy.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies, imaging, and other diagnostic testing.
• Provide patient and family education throughout diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, infusion teams, and the care team.
