Oncology Navigator – Guide LA Seniors Through Cancer Treatment

All Seniors Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit committed to improving the quality of life for older adults across Los Angeles County. we provide medical care, in-home support, hospice and palliative care, cancer navigation, and 200+ other free services to qualifying seniors. Every service is delivered at no cost, regardless of insurance status.

Role Overview:

As Oncology Navigator, you will guide seniors with new or active cancer diagnoses through the complex cancer care continuum — coordinating appointments, explaining options, connecting to financial aid, and supporting families emotionally. You will work alongside oncology teams to remove barriers to care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct oncology intake assessments for seniors newly diagnosed or in active treatment
  • Coordinate appointments across oncology, radiation, surgery, and supportive care
  • Connect patients to financial assistance, transportation, meal support, and lodging programs
  • Provide emotional support and educate on treatment options, side effects, and clinical trials
  • Track outcomes including treatment adherence, satisfaction, and barrier resolution
  • Partner with City of Hope, USC Norris, Cedars-Sinai, and community oncology practices
Qualifications:
  • RN license (CA) or MSW preferred
  • AONN+ Oncology Navigator certification or willingness to obtain
  • 2+ years oncology, social work, or care coordination experience
  • Strong empathy and ability to navigate complex emotional conversations
  • Comfort with end-of-life and palliative care discussions
