Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Medical Assistant for the Physician Practice across multiple locations. You will provide indirect and direct patient care under a provider's supervision, including vital signs, documenting needs, and assisting in care plans.

The role requires a High School/GED and enrollment in an MA program within 30 days of employment, with possible MA certification within 12 months and BLS certification where required.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Enrollment in an approved Medical Assistant program within 30 days of employment.
• Active MA certification within 12 months of start date or ABR-OE acceptable in SC positions (where applicable).
• BLS from American Heart Association required at certain locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with chief complaint assessment (respirations, BP, pulse, height, weight, temperature).
• Document patient information and assist in planning and implementing care.
• Administer medications as directed within scope and guidelines.
• Collect specimens and prepare tests.
• Explain treatments and medications to patients.
• Maintain patient flow and assist physicians during exams.
