Job summary

The US Oncology Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our Williamsburg office. This full-time role involves assisting physicians and staff with patient care, maintaining efficient patient flow, and handling administrative tasks in a fast-paced oncology setting.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience, with CMA strongly preferred. Travel between regional sites may be required. Benefits include M/D/V, Life Ins., and 401(k).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a multi-physician practice.
  • CMA certification strongly preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment including exams and procedures.
  • Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care, i.e. exams, and procedures.
  • Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
  • Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
  • Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
  • May schedule patient tests, procedures, and hospital admissions and may schedule appointments to follow up on test results as needed.
  • Arranges for pre-authorizations and pre-certifications as needed.
  • Performs other administrative duties as requested by supervisor or physician.
