Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. in Lexington Oncology is seeking a Medical Assistant for an outpatient clinic. You will provide direct patient care, obtain vital signs, document patient history, and support clinical workflow while managing the EPIC electronic health record and scheduling.

After earning clinical competency, responsibilities may include EKGs, lab tests, injections, and phlebotomy. This on-site role requires BLS within 90 days of hire and completion of MA orientation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a formal Medical Assistant training program or a minimum of one year of direct, hands-on patient care in a clinical setting.
• Clinical competency assessment and MA orientation required; those who do not meet standards may enter MA Trainee Program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and document patient history and medications.
• Support clinic procedures and manage patient flow in outpatient setting.
• Manage EPIC EHR, scheduling, medication requests, and prior authorizations.
• Coordinate tests and procedures; after competency, perform EKGs, labs, injections or phlebotomy.
