Job summary

UCLA Health in California seeks a Medical Assistant to join the Hematology-Oncology ambulatory clinics. You will provide total patient care under direct physician or NP supervision and assist during emergencies, while performing basic administrative duties and using computerized patient care systems.

The candidate must have a medical assistant diploma or certificate, national CMA/NCCT/AMT certification, and a current BLS credential.

Qualifications

• Must have a medical assistant diploma or certificate from an accredited program.
• National CMA/NCCT/AMT certification is required.
• Documentation of training in injections, venipuncture and related procedures within 6 months of hire.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to use patient care systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide total patient care under physician supervision in ambulatory Hematology-Oncology clinics.
• Recognize normal and abnormal signs and symptoms; assist during emergencies.
• Support basic administrative, clerical and technical tasks per supervisor.
• Maintain patient care records and operate computerized systems.
