Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Senior Insurance Verifier to obtain and record eligibility and benefit information and to initiate admission notifications. The role supports the infusion/oncology team and may offer a work-from-home option within the greater Houston area after training.

Non-exempt, fast-paced, and focused on accurate financial clearance. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of healthcare verification experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with EPIC and Microsoft

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years of insurance verification experience in a healthcare setting, preferably hospital or clinic.
• Experience with EPIC and common insurance terminology preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a positive, team‑focused work environment.
• Resolves access to care issues and ensures financial clearance for patients.
• Trains and mentors new team members.
• Initiates authorizations and tracks CPT codes and payer requirements.
