Job summary

Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center is seeking an exceptional Registered Nurse (RN) to join the infusion team in Albany and Corvallis, OR. This Part Time, 24 hrs/week role focuses on patients receiving infusion therapies with strong IV skills.

Oncology experience is a plus, and BLS/CPR and continuing education are required. The general pay scale for this position is $42.00 - $69.46 per hour; actual rate varies by experience, education, and location.

Qualifications

• BSN degree with at least three years nursing experience.
• Current RN license in practicing state.
• OCN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers chemotherapy, hydration and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician or APP.
• Maintains efficient and appropriate patient flow in and out of the infusion room space.
• Assesses patients for changes in condition, including abnormal labs, drug reactions, and initiates appropriate action.
• Completes chemotherapy charge forms; ensures pre-authorization and consent forms are obtained before administration.
• Demonstrates knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use and maintenance; documents pump usage.
• Facilitates dose modification by assessing patient and labs and consulting the physician.
• Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central lines.
• Administers all medications and blood products with correct dosage, route and timing.
• Cross-coverage at multiple locations may be necessary and will be requested as needed.
