Job summary

The RN Oncology Infusion Therapy Clinician at Wellstar Health System provides expert nursing care in an outpatient infusion center, administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other antineoplastic therapies with a focus on safety and compassionate patient education.

You will collaborate with the infusion team, monitor for toxicities, ensure adherence to standards, and support patients and families through treatment and survivorship considerations.

Qualifications

• RN license and current nursing practice in Georgia.
• Experience in oncology infusion therapy preferred.
• Knowledge of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and hazardous drugs.

Responsibilities

• Performs the Nursing Process (assessment; diagnosis; outcomes; planning; implementation and evaluation) in clinical care.
• Provides relationship-based patient-centered care that respects population-specific characteristics.
• Partners with patient and family using education and goal-focused planning.
• Practices with standards including chemotherapy and targeted therapies.
• Meets annual requirements for chemotherapy competence.
• Coordinates delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care with interdisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration to support fiscally responsible staffing.
• Supports performance improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Completes competency assessments and serves as a preceptor/mentor.
• Promotes evidence-based practice and adheres to policies and safety standards.
• Participates in data collection and uses evidence to address practice questions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with Wellstar Health System policies.
