Job summary

The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Oncology Infusion team. You will administer chemotherapy and biologic infusions, manage central venous access devices, and monitor patients for adverse reactions in a fast-paced specialty unit.

Responsibilities include educating patients and families, documenting care in the EHR, and collaborating with oncologists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive cancer care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• Oncology certification preferred.
• Chemotherapy/biotherapy certification encouraged.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience in oncology infusion and central line care is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy, biologics, and supportive infusions per protocols.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Manage central venous access devices and maintain infusion equipment.
• Educate patients and families on treatments, side effects, and symptom management.
• Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
• Document care in the EHR following regulatory and institutional standards.
• Implement evidence-based oncology nursing practices and safety guidelines.
• Support quality improvement and clinical research within the infusion center.
• Precept or mentor nurses and students as needed.
• Participate in continuous learning and oncology-specific education.
