Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking an Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) at the Webster, Texas location. The role supports a Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends or holidays and no on-call requirements. The position can be Level I, II, or Senior based on experience.

The RN will deliver professional nursing care, collaborate with the care team, and ensure adherence to national and company guidelines while addressing patient/family needs.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • RN license with state board registration.
  • Current BLS certification; ongoing continuing education requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and promote continuity of care.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching materials.
  • Prepare/administer therapies under physician supervision.
  • Administer medications/blood products with correct procedures.
  • Obtain pre-authorization and consent forms when applicable.
  • Assess dose modifications and consult physician as needed.
  • Perform venipuncture, port access, and central line care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments.
  • Understand reimbursement procedures and charge capture.

Job description

Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for an Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Webster, Texas location. This position is Monday‑Friday, no weekends or holidays, and no call.

This position can be a Level I, II or Senior based on relevant candidate experience.

Role Overview

The RN provides professional nursing care for patients and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient/family needs while adhering to national and company standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
  • Administer all medications/blood products using correct medication/blood product, dosage/amount, route, time and technique.
  • Assure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable.
  • Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports and maintain central line catheter devices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
  • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

Education / Training
Level I
  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Must maintain continuing education requirements.
  • Entry level – 0–3 years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
Level II
  • Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
Level Senior
  • In addition to Levels I and II:
    • Minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred.
    • Oncology certification preferred.
