Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• RN licensure in Alabama or Compact State Licensure (NLC) Depending on eligibility.
• Certification to administer Chemotherapy within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist oncology physicians in outpatient management.
• Administer chemotherapy as ordered by physicians.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the chemotherapy area.
• Coordinate pre- and post-treatment labs and testing.
• Educate patients and families on illness, therapy and home care.
• Ensure policy compliance with OSHA and institutional safety standards.
• Order and restock chemotherapy drugs and supplies as needed.
• Schedule tests, procedures and appointments and communicate results to physicians.
