Job summary

Virginia Cancer Specialists, an affiliate of McKesson Specialty Health and US Oncology, is seeking a Full Time Infusion Nurse for our Arlington and Alexandria locations. The role requires oncology experience and an RN license with CPR certification.

BSN preferred and a minimum of 3 years nursing experience is expected. The incumbent will manage infusion therapies, perform venipuncture, access ports, and collaborate with physicians to ensure quality patient care while maintaining documentation

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years nursing experience, preferably in an oncology environment.
• Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of age specific differences in the patient population.
• Assess and monitor therapy of patients under physician direction.
• Assist physician with exams and procedures.
• Maintain efficient and appropriate patient flow.
• Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports and maintain central venous access devices.
• Documents all elements of care and communicates with physician.
