Job summary

Colorado Urology is seeking a Medical Oncology Infusion Nurse to provide safe, compassionate care including IV infusions, patient education, triage calls, and collaboration with providers.

The role requires RN licensure in the state, BLS/CPR/ACLS, and at least 2 years of nursing experience. Oncology experience and ONS Chemotherapy training are preferred. Competitive pay and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN licensure in the state of employment and will be verified prior to employment.
• OCN certification preferred but not required.
• BLS, CPR, or ACLS certification required and will be verified prior to employment.
• Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience.
• Competent in venipuncture, vascular access, and IV infusion skills.
• Critical care, infusion, or oncology nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies regimen orders and administers infusion medications according to policies.
• Recognizes and responds to infusion reactions and medical emergencies.
• Triage and prioritize patient needs by direct contact or phone.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
• Assists in scheduling patients returning to nursing clinic.
• Documents nursing encounters in the EMR.
• Assessments of patients’ functional ability and safety needs.
• Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and health professionals.
• Educates patients/families about disease and treatment.
• Identify and resolve barriers to safe, quality patient care.
