Job summary

Avera St. Mary's in Pierre, South Dakota, is seeking a Dietitian to provide nutritional consultation to cancer patients across the cancer continuum, from prevention through palliative care.

You will perform nutrition screening, create individualized care plans, and deliver medical nutrition therapy tailored to each patient’s therapy and needs. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of nutrition care during admission and discharge, educate patients and families,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or a related field.
• Dietetic Internship or eligibility for ACEND credentialing.
• Registered Dietitian credential within 180 days of hire; licensed in state within 180 days.
• 1–3 years of experience in clinical nutrition preferred; advanced certifications welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate nutritional assessments and interpret patient information.
• Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans with measurable goals.
• Provide medical nutrition therapy and counseling to cancer patients across treatment stages.
• Communicate nutrition care plans for continuity with the care team and discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families; develop patient education materials.
