Job summary

UTMB is seeking a full-time physician at the rank of Associate Professor of Clinical Practice within the Division of Medical Oncology. This role emphasizes high-quality clinical cancer care, teaching, and active engagement in the academic mission of the department.

The Division provides inpatient and outpatient cancer care across UTMB’s hospitals in Galveston, League City, Clear Lake, and Angleton Danbury, with a strong focus on multidisciplinary collaboration, research, and education.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.
• Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient and/or inpatient oncology care, including management of solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, and supportive oncology care.
• Participate in chemotherapy administration, clinical trials, and multidisciplinary tumor boards.
• Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical and didactic oncology settings.
• Engage in departmental and divisional quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including surgery, radiation oncology, radiology, pathology, and palliative care—for optimal patient outcomes.
• Contribute to curriculum development, clinical skills training, and oncology-focused academic programs.
