Job summary
Virginia Oncology Associates in Norfolk seeks a full-time Clinical Trials Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to support oncology clinical trials. Qualifications
- MSN from an accredited program and NP or PA certification.
- State RN license and active NP or PA license.
- Current BLS/CPR/ACLS preferred.
- DEA and NPI registration as applicable.
- Two years in oncology clinical trials preferred.
- Familiarity with IRB/IEC and GCP.
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced research.
- Willingness to travel to multiple practice locations.
Responsibilities
- Provide protocol-driven clinical care to oncology trial patients.
- Perform prescreening and eligibility assessments with investigators.
- Obtain informed consent and enroll patients per protocol.
- Conduct clinical assessments and manage acute/chronic conditions.
- Prescribe medications (including investigational agents, as allowed).
- Monitor adverse events and document timely reporting.
- Educate patients/families about trials and follow-up care.
- Document findings in EMR and research systems.
- Participate in study initiation/monitoring visits, audits, inspections.
- Serve as liaison between investigators, sponsors, and care teams.
- Support multiple concurrent trials with protocol compliance.
