Job summary

Cooper University Health Care seeks an Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to streamline oncology care. The role includes clinical services, medication management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to optimize cancer therapy within the Cooper system.

You will lead educational activities, address drug shortages, and participate in formulary decisions while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years Oncology preferred.
• Post Graduate (PGY2) in Oncology required.
• Oncology Board Certification (or eligible within 2 years).
• New Jersey Board of Pharmacy Licensure

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to propose best treatment practices per NCCN guidelines and primary literature.
• Provide clinical pharmacy services for oncology patients: counseling, therapy selection, monitoring, adverse effects, and drug interactions.
• Deliver in-services on new oncology therapies to the oncology team.
• Lead hematology/oncology pharmacology lectures for fellows and physicians.
• Navigate oncology drug shortages and suggest alternative therapies when needed.
• Precept pharmacy residents and students on ambulatory oncology rotations.
• Build chemotherapy regimens into EPIC and contribute to formulary additions.
• Participate in oncology pharmacy & therapeutics (P&T) subcommittee and hospital P&T meetings.
• Assist with medication acquisition for oral and injectable therapies, including prior authorizations and peer reviews.
• Identify and complete patient care quality improvement projects.
• Assist in policy development for oncology patient care.
