Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Medical Oncology Department at our New Braunfels, TX location. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, 8:30am–5pm, with no weekends, call, or major holidays.

The RN provides professional nursing care per national and company standards, supports quality initiatives, and adheres to the Texas Oncology compliance program and ethics guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
• Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care.
• Assess health status by interviewing patient and medical history.
• Provide teaching and instructional material to patients and families.
• Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
• Manage patient medication refill requests and document in chart.
• Schedule consultations, pre-testing, tests, referrals and future appointments.
• Triages patient calls and document information in chart.
• Coordinate services related to patient care with interdisciplinary team.
• Assist patients in locating community resources.
