Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Chemotherapy Infusion Clinic RN to provide direct and indirect oncology nursing care in the Chemo Clinic, coordinating patient scheduling and referrals with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy, monitoring patients, educating families, and ensuring safety and adherence to VA policies. The role requires an active RN license, oncology experience, and certification as an ONS/ONCC provider where available.

Qualifications

• English proficiency per 38 U.S.C. 7403(f) (written and spoken)
• Graduate of nursing program approved by ACEN/CCNE
• State license as registered nurse on appointment or eligible to obtain license
• GNT exception allows entry at lower grade with pursuing licensure
• Foreign-educated nurses require degree equivalency validation
• Current, full, active, unrestricted RN license in US or DC or territories

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule patients referred to the chemo infusion clinic
• Provide direct and indirect nursing care in Oncology and Infusion clinics
• Triage and manage patient symptoms and education along the continuum of care
• Ensure safe handling and administration of chemotherapy and related agents
• Maintain infection control standards and compliance with VA policies
• Participate in Shared Governance and contribute to quality care for veterans
