Job summary

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to assist physicians in the care and teaching of patients at our Hudson, FL location.

The role involves evaluating patients, prescribing appropriately, determining trial eligibility, and supporting multidisciplinary rounds. You will engage with patients and families while upholding HIPAA compliance and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Licensed/eligible to practice in Florida with prescriptive privileges.
• 2+ years licensed as NP or PA.
• Current Florida license/registration to practice.
• Certification from AANP/ANCC/ONCC or NCCPA.
• BLS certified.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients via interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic studies.
• Write prescriptions for medications, blood products based on labs, routine diagnostic and follow‑up studies, therapeutic measures, and post‑discharge care per protocols.
• Determine eligibility of patients for entry into clinical trials.
• Interpret and evaluate findings of studies/tests; relay information to the collaborating physician.
• Provide on‑call coverage and participate in rounds; market cancer treatment to the public.
