Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Intern - Onboard Software Developer to thrive in a fast-paced environment in Pittsburgh, PA. The role spans administrative to strategic tasks and offers real-world projects with top industry talent.

You will gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to signaling systems for metros and light rail, while supporting the team on onboarding software design and testing.

Qualifications

• Strong relevant technical skills.
• Attention to detail and multi-tasking ability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Electrical or Software Engineering student with expected graduation between December 2027 and May 2028.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of onboard software development in accordance with established design principles, procedures, and specifications.
• Assist in programming onboard software development in accordance with rules and all related specifications.
• Assist with preparation of project and design documentation.
• Assist with test setup and testing of onboard software development systems.
