Job summary

Loft in Golden, CO seeks an experienced software engineer to design and deliver high-assurance onboard software for space missions. You will own features from concept through delivery, ensuring robustness and reliability across spacecraft systems.

Responsibilities include code reviews, unit testing, and collaborating on architecture, with opportunities to contribute to satellite operations and mission-critical workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering with C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD and modern build systems.
• Knowledge of distributed architectures and POSIX standards.
• Multi-threaded application development experience is required.
• Familiarity with networking protocols (UDP/TCP/IP).
• Experience with embedded Linux (Yocto) and ARM platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and refine software with ownership and reliability.
• Review code, enforce standards, and maintain code quality.
• Develop unit tests for self and peer code.
• Use version control to manage feature branches and releases.
• Contribute to onboard software architecture through proposals and reviews.
• Participate in evolving development processes and standards.
• Coordinate releases with downstream teams and onboard satellites.
