Job summary

American Cruise Lines is seeking an Engineer – Unlicensed to join our fleet sailing inland and coastal waterways. The engineer oversees propulsion, auxiliary, electrical systems, and onboard machinery, ensuring safe operation, maintenance, and compliance with maritime regulations.

Reports to the Captain and coordinates with Port Engineers for repairs and training. Expect a demanding schedule—7 days per week aboard, 4 weeks on/4 weeks off rotation, and a focus on safety, efficiency, and guest

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel machinery, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Strong work habits and ability to follow technical procedures.
• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• TWIC – Transportation Worker Identification Card.
• Pre-employment drug test and random testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot shipboard propulsion, auxiliary, and electrical systems.
• Provide 24-hour response for technical issues and emergencies.
• Support vessel docking, logistics, and maintenance activities.
• Implement maintenance schedules and ensure safety standards.
