Job summary

Hybrid role requiring in-office presence four days per week and flexibility for nights/weekends to support a 24/7 operation. Must have a broadcast background with knowledge of traffic systems and scheduling software.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and/or Associate's Degree in Media or Communications, or equivalent professional experience in broadcast, digital, or post production.
  • Solid understanding of television production, broadcast operations, and/or entertainment technical production requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains air ready schedules and program formats for play-out across NBCUniversal properties.
  • Coordinates scheduling of quick turnaround primetime programming for a 24/7 schedule across networks and channels.
  • Performs traffic compares and makes scheduling/format changes due to programming or operational needs.
  • Understands scheduling tools such as TLL, Webscheduler, OTTO, Wide Orbit, Sintec, and Streetlite.
  • Executes contingency scheduling for sports replays to keep networks on time.
  • Validates Webscheduler playlists for reliable resource and hardware assignments.
  • Assists with troubleshooting as needed.
  • Willing to work flexible hours including nights and weekends; hybrid Stamford schedule requires 4 days in-office.

Job Description

NBCUniversal is looking for an On-Air Scheduling Coordinator who is responsible for maintaining the on-air play-out schedules for the on-air operation. The coordinator serves as a direct point of contact between on-air operations, commercial operations, and program operations to ensure that playlists are scheduled properly for air.

Essential Functions
  • Maintains air ready schedules and program formats for play-out across the suite of NBCUniversal cable and broadcast properties, digital and linear, by way of NBCUniversal’s proprietary scheduling systems
  • Coordinates the scheduling and reprocessing of quick turnaround primetime programming to ensure we provide a complete 24/7 continuous schedule across all networks and channels
  • Performs traffic compares and any scheduling or formatting changes needed because of programming changes, traffic adjustments, or operational needs of the NOC
  • Understands all technical programs required including but not limited to TLL, Webscheduler, OTTO, Wide Orbit, Sintec, and Streetlite
  • Executes contingency scheduling for sports replays such as JIPs, filler programming, and sliding of schedules to bring networks back on time
  • Validates webscheduler playlists for reliable resource and hardware assignments prior to play out
  • Assists with troubleshooting as needed
  • Willingness and open availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, to meet the 24/7 operational needs
  • Must be willing to work in Stamford, CT
  • Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • A High School Diploma and relevant certification or Associate's Degree in Media or Communications, or equivalent professional experience in broadcast, digital, or post production role.
  • A solid understanding of television production, broadcast operations, and/or news/sports/entertainment technical production requirements.
Desired Qualificiations
  • Associates degree in related field or equivalent professional experience required
  • 2+ years of professional experience working with traffic systems or any on-air scheduling system
  • 2+ years experience working in a 24/7 broadcast operation
  • Strong computer skills required, especially Microsoft Office products including, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to learn new software programs
  • Strong client service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure, team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Additional Requirements
  • This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
  • Must have unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be willing to work on-site in Stamford, CT
  • Must be willing and available to work any shift including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of a 24x7/365 operation, with possibility of schedule changes based on business needs and priorities. (Likely shift identified as 5pm-2am Eastern Time Wed-Sat, subject to change)
