Job summary

UMGC is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach on-site at Fort Sam Houston, TX in the Natural Sciences Program, delivering Weather & Climate (NSCI 170) to adult learners.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Agricultural science, or related field, with professional experience in a related field and experience teaching adults online or in higher education.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Agricultural science, or related field.
• Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred.
• Degree must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed, and conveys energy and enthusiasm for learning.
• Guide students in active collaboration and application of learning in problem- and project-based demonstrations.
• Provide rich and regular constructive feedback using rubrics for assessment of student work.
• Demonstrate current subject-matter expertise and connect concepts across the program.
