Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking an On-Site Supervisor to lead utility distribution operations and maintenance at the Capitol Power Plant in Washington, DC. This full-time, on-site position oversees technicians, subcontractors, maintenance planning, quality control, and repairs across steam, chilled water, electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems.

The job is Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. with 24/7 emergency availability, one-year minimum commitment, and a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Completed formal vocational or technical training in maintenance, mechanical, or electrical work.
• At least five (5) years supervising an O&M program involving steam and chilled water in a single facility.
• Valid Stationary Engineer license at least equivalent to Class 3/First Grade.
• Competency in HVAC, plumbing, and/or electrical through education, registration and experience.
• Completed 30-hour OSHA or 40-hour USACE safety course.
• Licenses must be valid; substitutions require written Government approval.
• Obtain tunnel-entry training: asbestos awareness, permit-required confined space, heat stress prevention; annual refreshers.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations, preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, life safety and energy management.
• Plan and schedule work; supervise technicians, subcontractors, and consultants.
• Prepare cost estimates and service quotes; coordinate project work and invoicing.
• Track work in CMMS; oversee orders, records, and system administration.
• Inspect work for quality; coordinate corrective actions with stakeholders.
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, life safety systems.
