Job summary

The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in Fort Yates, ND is seeking a full-time, on-site In-House Attorney to provide direct legal counsel to Tribal Leadership, Tribal Council, and Tribal Programs. You will ensure compliance with federal and tribal laws while supporting governmental operations and policy priorities.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of federal Indian law and tribal governance.
• Experience advising Tribal Leadership and councils.
• Ability to negotiate contracts and manage litigation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct legal counsel to Tribal Leadership, Tribal Council, and Tribal Programs.
• Support governance initiatives, code development and revision.
• Manage contracts, negotiations, and litigation.
