Job summary

Educational Employees Credit Union in Fresno, CA is seeking a Systems Database Administrator II to join our Information Services team. This hands-on role covers configuring, supporting, and maintaining database servers, SAN and VM performance, with an emphasis on security and reliability.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree (preferred) and 4–6 years of related experience, strong SQL skills, and the ability to work independently and with on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with 4–6 years of related experience or equivalent
• Solid understanding of technology systems and strong computer skills
• Broad awareness of modern technology (e.g., Virtualization, WANs/LANs, VoIP)
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Ability to respond to issues during non-scheduled hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Assists with maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the EECU network and computing infrastructure.
• Design, install, configure, maintain, and monitor physical and logical database architecture for health, performance, reliability, and availability.
• Perform database modeling, data flow analysis, data extraction, and access methods, including SQL.
• Manage backups including clustering, mirroring, replication, failover, storage allocation, and related security practices.
• Perform database and server administration tasks including user and group administration, security permissions, and policies.
• Monitor data center and server health; troubleshoot hardware and system issues; assist with building and maintaining new servers and database systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance across the organization’s server and database assets.
• Prepare downtime records and reports; recommend changes to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with help desk and other teams to troubleshoot, identify root causes, and provide technical support.
• Conduct routine audits of systems, including backup inventory.
• Ensure security processes comply with regulatory requirements and EECU policies.
• Coordinate with managers, vendors, and internal teams to support technology operations.
• Support new delivery systems and workflows and software upgrades.
• Maintain accurate server rack configurations in Data Centers.
• Document duties, activities, problems solved and issues resolved.
