Job summary

Tampa General Hospital DeSoto is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to implement standards of care and evaluate, assess, and treat patients’ speech, voice, and language function for rehabilitation.

The role involves conducting assessments, creating and applying tailored therapy plans, documenting progress, and collaborating with the care team. On-site in Arcadia, FL, with a day shift and Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• CCC-SLP certification or eligibility.
• Licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders to inform treatment planning.
• Develop tailored therapy plans with short- and long-term goals based on assessments.
• Administer therapies and techniques addressing patient needs safely and per care plan.
• Re-assess progress regularly and adjust treatment as needed.
• Ensure safe operation of speech therapy equipment and tools.
• Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions for billing and compliance.
• Coordinate patient schedules and manage cancellations or follow-ups.
• Report incidents or concerns promptly following procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other professionals on care plans for holistic treatment.
