Job summary

TheraPeds Partners is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (SPED) for a full-time, on-site school-based role in Shawnee, Kansas for the 2026-2027 school year. You’ll develop IEPs, provide specialized instruction, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support PreK–12 students.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Special Education and state licensure. Benefits include guaranteed hours and strong district partnership support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Current or eligible for Kansas State teaching certification in Special Education.
• Ability to obtain fingerprinting and background clearance.
• One year of school-based experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and progress towards goals.
• Provide individualized instruction tailored to students’ needs.
• Manage assigned caseload and coordinate services.
• Conduct assessments and participate in eligibility and MDT meetings.
• Document progress and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and staff.
• Support IDEA compliance and district procedures.
