Job summary

AEITS, Inc. in Annapolis Junction, MD seeks a Software Engineer, Level 3 for on-site work only. Key duties include maintaining and enhancing complex software systems, reviewing components, and solving software issues per documented requirements.

Strong emphasis on system design input, database interfaces, and algorithm development. Requirements include either a high school diploma with 24 years of SWE experience or a Bachelor's degree in CS with 20 years of SWE experience on similar projects.

Qualifications

• High School with 24 years of SWE experience or a Bachelor's degree with 20 years SWE experience on similar projects.
• Experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements.
• Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
• Resolves software problem reports and uses appropriate development methodologies.
• Provides input to system design including hardware/software trade-offs and reuse of COTS/GOTS.
• Designs or implements complex database/data repository interfaces/queries.
• Develops or implements algorithms to meet/exceed performance and functional standards.
• Assists with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
• Develops software solutions by analyzing system performance, user needs, and processes; investigates problems.
• Modifies existing software to adapt to new hardware or improve performance.
• Designs, develops, and modifies software systems using mathematical models to predict outcomes.

Education

High School with 24 years SWE experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline with 20 years SWE experience on projects with similar software processes
