Job summary

General Overview:

General Overview:

Perform shaped charge assembly procedures working in a moderate to the fast-paced, hands-on assembly process. This position requires on-site presence and regular attendance to perform the essential duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs duties in a safety-intensive environment where everyone’s safety is paramount.
  • Works on a team while maintaining a clean and well-organized work area.
  • Complies with safety, quality and job specific policies and procedures and takes appropriate action when they are aware of any non-conformance.
  • Works under direct supervision of trainer and Production Foreman.
  • Demonstrate that they can meet the general requirements and job duties of the position with normal supervision.
  • Performs normal requirements for operating production presses.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment / Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work settings range from clean indoor lab to unprotected outdoor environments. The employee frequently handles packaged/boxed explosives, explosive articles and/or explosive powders and pellets. This may also involve instructing others in the proper handling, use, storage and transportation of these explosives. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee frequently works with powders, sometimes in a dusty environment and occasionally around fumes. Workers must not be overly sensitive (allergies, rashes, etc.) to working in these conditions. While rare, any accident could be catastrophic and potentially result in injury or death to many employees.

Specific vision abilities that are required by this job include: close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. These vision requirements relate to obtaining a valid driver’s license and recognizing current Hazmat warning labels or markings that are color coded.

  • Technical Requirements / Skills
  • Knowledge of quality systems (ISO, CE, etc.)
  • Good “hands on” mechanical aptitude and ability.
  • Able to read, understand, learn and follow written and verbal safety, quality and work instructions.
  • Bilingual a plus.

  • Able to meet ATF & regulatory security requirements.
