Job summary

West Virginia University is seeking an on-site Program Coordinator for the University Testing Center. The University Testing Center at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for an on-site Program Coordinator.

About the Opportunity

This position assists the Director in the implementation and administration of exams delivered through the University Testing Centers. This position informs students, University Testing Center (UTC) personnel, and other stakeholders with respect to software, hardware, and testing procedures. This position assists the Director in the test scheduling process and test materials and assists with training and dissemination of information to University Testing Center personnel. This position may act as a liaison with Information Technology Services, the Office of Accessibility Services, and the Office of Academic Integrity on matters pertaining to the University Testing Centers. This position supervises University Testing Center student personnel. The role is primarily stationed at the Evansdale Crossing location but may be asked to work at the Hodges location on occasion.

What you'll Do
  • Working with various stakeholders, implements the resources of the University Testing Center in support of university assessment and academic integrity priorities.
  • Regularly reviews University Testing Center policies and procedures and faculty provided guidelines to maintain integrity of the testing environment and the security of tests and materials.
  • Helps to assure a high level of Information Technology Services support for the University Testing Centers, serves as a liaison with Information Technology Services staff, and provides ongoing University Testing Center demand analysis, facilities and equipment assessments.
  • Coordinates with the Office of Accessibility Services to ensure similar secure network functionality and appropriate referrals of service.
  • Coordinates various aspects of the University Testing Center, test registration and availability, scheduling of exams, and coordinating with other service areas to ensure staffing and availability of the University Testing Center when needed for general use.
  • Ensures the hiring and employment of quality personnel by assisting in the selection, training, and evaluation of University Testing Center student staff.
  • Coordinates, implements, and oversees the administration of all exams given through the University Testing Center.
  • Contributes to an environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
  • Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending relevant training and/or courses.
  • Contributes to the overall success of the University by performing all other duties as assigned.
  • Functions as a center proctor by ensuring students follow testing center protocols, monitoring testing operations for academic integrity, and assisting students with computer operation, technical difficulties, and any other issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer networking and relevant software packages, including word processing, spreadsheets, and common troubleshooting skills. Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • An extensive knowledge of personal computing, Microsoft Office software, email and internet usage is required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Effective interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills are required.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality regarding information processed, stored, or accessed by systems is required.
  • Demonstrated supervisor skills are required.
  • The ability to work effectively with constituencies possessing a wide variety of technical knowledge is required.
  • The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.
Knowledge of:
  • Best practices for ensuring academic integrity and related testing procedures.
