Job summary

GovSG in Portsmouth, VA is seeking a motivated Surface Modernization Analyst to design, develop, deploy, and maintain Canvas and model‑driven Power Apps for modernization planning and installation tracking. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field.
• Minimum three years of Microsoft Power Platform development.
• Experience developing Canvas and model‑driven Power Apps with Power Fx.
• Extensive experience with Power Automate workflows, JSON and OData.
• Proficient in Power BI reporting, Power Query M, DAX, data modeling.
• Experience troubleshooting, validating data, and lifecycle management.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with NAVWAR or NIWC Atlantic programs is a plus.
• Familiarity with Navy modernization planning and ship-tracking concepts.
• Experience with Dataverse, PCF, custom connectors, APIs, and Copilot Studio.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Power Apps for modernization planning and tracking.
• Configure forms, views, rules, notifications, and UI using Power Fx.
• Troubleshoot defects, improve usability, and implement enhancements.
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to estimate efforts and prioritize work.
• Ensure security, data governance, and lifecycle processes per Navy requirements.
• Coordinate access, data integrity, and releases with owners and admins.
• Document configurations, decisions, tests, and deployment actions.
• Develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and analytics within Microsoft 365.
• Model and visualize readiness, milestones, costs, and variances.
• Create Power Query transformations, DAX measures, and data models.
• Configure and maintain Power BI Row-Level Security per access controls.
• Validate reporting data with data owners and document definitions.
• Provide program management, data analysis, and knowledge management support.
• Identify improvements to processes and implement approved solutions.
• Prepare and deliver recurring metrics and executive-level reports.
• Coordinate meetings, capture minutes, and track action items.
• Support QA reviews to ensure policy compliance.
• Establish knowledge management practices using Microsoft 365 tools.
• Other duties as assigned.
